Brewing since 2013
Profile: Michael is one of the founders of OG Homebrewers along with Sean and Greg. Two weeks prior to moving to Colorado, Michael learned to homebrew, transporting his first brew (a hefeweizen) on the floorboard of the car from Kentucky. He loves dark beers of all styles, but enjoys a healthy allowance of pale ales and IPAs in the mix. He hasn’t met a bourbon barrel aged beer he hasn’t wanted to taste.
Currently, his brewery has a 2.5 gallon capacity. This allows him to have multiple brews fermenting at the same time, using the small batches to diversify his lineup. Recently, he began a lamic program after he introduced his finacee to Lindemans PĂȘche.
Brewing goals: Michael is currently learning the nuances of various malts; this, towards being able to create a grain bill from memory for any brewing situation. Michael enjoys brewing beer that matches the circumstances of life. In 2014, he created and brewed a pale ale recipe for two friends on the occasion of their son’s birth. The Coulter Pale Ale was just brewed and served for a third time in celebration of Coulter’s second birthday.
